Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets will mark their 50th season in 2016-17 and their fifth since embarking on a new era with the move to downtown Brooklyn. Forty years after the incomparable Julius “Dr. J” Erving revolutionized the game while leading the Nets to two ABA championships, the franchise continues to blaze new trails. With the opening of HSS Training Center in February of 2016, the Nets have brought all of their business and basketball operations to the Brooklyn, determined to play a central role in community and economic development in the borough.

New York Islanders

One of only two NHL franchises to have ever won as many as four consecutive Stanley Cup championships, the New York Islanders played their inaugural season in Brooklyn in 2015-16. Having brought one of the league’s great legacies to Barclays Center, the Islanders also boast one of the NHL’s deepest rosters of rising stars and highly-rated prospects, giving them a proud history, promising present and bright future.

Long Island Nets

The Long Island Nets are the wholly owned and operated NBA Development League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets. As a direct affiliate of the NBA franchise, the Long Island Nets provide the organization with an avenue for player and staff development in a consistent environment. The team will begin play with the 2016-17 season, playing its home games at Barclays Center and practicing at the recently opened HSS Training Center. Beginning with the 2017-18 season, the team will move to its new home at the renovated Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The red, white and blue colors of the Long Island Nets pay homage to the team’s heritage. The American Basketball Association’s New York Nets wore those colors when they played at Nassau Coliseum from 1972-76, winning ABA titles in 1974 and 1976.
